I keep forgetting to post this for you guys. lol For those who are interested in videos, or food junkies… haha
This is Luke Nguyen, and he goes around Cambodia and explores many Khmer dishes and traditions. He also cooks in a tuktuk. LOL :)
Grandmother came back from her Trip to Cambodia Sunday, among the typical gifts she brings back, she always brings us “Ambok” lol.
I’m not sure if any or most of you have heard or ever tried this before, but what it is, is the “Ambok” is just pounded rice, typically a snack, that is usually eaten with coconut juice. (I drown mine, since it’s very hard to chew straight up)
Homemade Prahok :)

Absolutely LOVE when my mom makes jello! lol She only makes it whenever we’re going to the temple though :/
This type of jello (“jah-hoouey”) consists of minced/tiny cubes of jack fruit and a layer of coconut milk on the top.

Bai Mouan (Cambodian Chicken & Rice)
This dish is all about the broth & toppings. I’ve got fried garlic, preserved cabbage, cucumbers, scallions & of course a classic Khmer dipping sauce (fish sauce, lime juice, chilies & garlic)

Krolan (Khmer rice cake stuffed in bamboo) by alpinist_blue on Flickr.
ooooo! has anyone ever had this before?! i absolutely LAVVVV it! Especially at little family barbecues. My uncle once made these at his house one summer, it’s pretty yummy. What’s put inside is sticky, sweet rice with beans or whatever of your choice and its stuffed inside a bamboo and then is grilled. You eat the inside of course lol. :)
“Nom (sluck) Kachai” (cute little chive rice cakes/patties) can also add meat if desired
i looovee when my mom makes this! just add some siracha and/or soy sauce and you’ve got yourself a good snack :) lol orrr maybe breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Foodz fresh from Cambodia!
